Additive manufacturing software helps 3D printing facilities manage projects to improve ROI

LINK3D, an additive manufacturing (AM) company focused on software for the 3D printing industry, introduced LINK3D Analytics. The software will be integrated into its proprietary product, Digital Factory.

After announcing the integration of blockchain technology for the additive manufacturing industry this month, LINK3D Analytics will further enhance additive manufacturing workflow processes.

The software helps users optimize machine use and efficiency. Analytics automatically reviews and enhances operations insights; the new software module mines imperative data to ensure accurate forecasting for clients and 3D printers.

The forecast analytics are based on several individual criteria that includes order requests, materials used, build-failure percentage and production volume. LINK3D Analytics promises AM facility managers accurate and predictive project completion that results in maximum ROI.

‘The benefits that big data analytics bring to the table are viable to any business, but most important is speed and efficiency,” according to Shane Fox, LINK3D’s CEO. ‘A few years ago a business would have gathered information, run analytics, and unearthed information that could be used for future decisions. But today, that same business can identify insights for immediate decisions and actionable insights. The ability to work faster and stay agile, in real-time, gives organizations a competitive edge they didn’t have before.’

“Facility managers and planners need to start looking at their data  to plan day-to-day operations and optimize their ROI,” says Vishal K. Singh, CTO of LINK3D. “Analytics software lets AM manufacturers understand order / production volume, input / output production factors, and business expansion opportunities.”

LINK3D Analytics includes:
–Material usage, cost tracking and forecasts to facilitate ‘just-in-time’ manufacturing and contract negotiations

–Human resource planning by tracking engineering and post-processing hours required to complete orders

–Production volume to maximize machine capacity and utilization

–Order tracking to identify bottlenecks and ensure delivery dates are met

–Generating reports to understand P&L, revenues generated, cost incurred to drive business decision and take advantage of tax credits
