London, UK – Throughout October and the rest of Q4 for 2009, A1 Technologies will be attending a host of industry and educational shows and events to showcase the company’s full range of affordable advanced technology solutions. Available as a bundle or as individual products A1 Technologies will be demonstrating the impressive capabilities of the RapMan 3D Printer, the 3D David Laser Scanner and the Chameleon 3D Haptic Design package.
Central to A1 Technologies’ mission is a campaign to promote accessible advanced manufacturing technologies to industry and to educational establishments with the aim of putting real technology into the hands of as many of today’s engineers and designers as possible, as well as those of tomorrow’s engineers. Last week A1 Technologies exhibited at the Edexcel Diploma Expo in London followed by the Services for Schools Trade Fair, in Kent, Tuesday October 13th. Later this week A1 Technologies will attend the Irish Manufacturing Show in Dublin, where the full technology arsenal will be exhibited during the two-day exhibition taking place October 14–15th. At the TCT Live 2009 exhibition, taking place October 20–21st at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, A1 Technologies will not only exhibit its core product range, but will also launch the new RapMan Pro — an upgraded model of the 3D printer.
The RapMan 3D printer means that this genre of additive technology is accessible in terms of the ease of use of the machine as well as the price, which traditionally has proved to be a barrier. At £750, it includes everything needed to assemble and run the equipment, including software to slice an .stl file and convert it into the G Code read by the RapMan machine.
The 3D DAVID-laserscanner is a very low-cost system for contact-free scanning of 3D objects for a broad range of applications. The only hardware requirements — which are included in the complete starter-kit offered by A1 Technologies for £320 — are a hand-held laser and a camera. With simplicity supplied as standard, the DAVID-laserscanner is capable of producing 3D data that can be used in various standard file formats, which are compatible with the RapMan 3D printer.
The Chameleon 3D ‘haptic’ application from A1 Technologies delivers a high quality, immersive 3D experience to its users at only £350. The combination of affordability and cutting-edge technology integration enhances and facilitates greater efficiency when working, designing, creating, training — or simply just playing — in virtual 3D space. Chameleon combines 3D modelling software with a touch-enabling (haptic) device and is suitable for anyone — of any age — to model and construct 3D objects, particularly free-form shapes. Completed models can be directly 3D printed on the RapMan.
The full range of products offered by A1 Techologies including the RapMan 3D printer, the Chameleon 3D haptic application and the 3D David Laser Scanner, can be viewed at the company’s website: www.a1-tech.com.uk.
