Designed by brothers Jonas and Simon Kühling, the Kühling&Kühling Industrial 3D printer is a true RepRap. Incorporating many features of previous RepRap incarnations, the Kühling&Kühling advances the state of the art by adding a suite of new features that can help create better prints.
Among these new features are:
- A heated chamber capable of 65-70°C recirculating air temperature
- Heated PCB print bed
- Water cooled hot-ends and extruder steppers to ensure reliable extrusion in high ambient air temperature
- Dual extruders
- 200x200x200mm build volume
- Specifically aimed at printing ABS with zero warping
Adding a heated chamber and base to the RepRap will most likely allow the machine to produce prints with greater fidelity, and including a second extruder head could be used to print support material. These features alone make the Kühling&Kühling stand out from other RepRap printers.
In the coming months, the brothers will be improving their design and upcoming developments include a frame revision, adding magnetic door locks and incorporating a Raspberry Pi with a 10″ capacitive touch interface for ethernet enabled standalone operation.
Simon expects that the Kühling&Kühling Industrial 3D printer will be released sometime next week, and you can be sure that when the plans are released I’ll be building one.
