DMI and Telit have announced a collaboration centered around the Telit Internet of Things (IoT) Portal which aims to simplify how enterprise customers connect devices and machine-to-machine (M2M) equipment to networks. This collaboration will improve the IoT platform’s user interface (UI), enterprise level data integrations, databases, mobile apps and dashboards.

Telit reports that thanks to DMI, their IoT Portal will simplify how engineers connect their products to the net and apps. Telit also promises that the platform will improve its ability to assess big data. These big data analytics will help customers develop better product personalization, demonstrate compliance to regulations and standards, improve user experiences, develop revenue streams and reduce costs.

“We are excited about our global collaboration with DMI to provide customized apps that help organizations gain actionable intelligence from the thousands of IoT devices connecting to their corporate networks,” said Fred Yentz, CEO of Telit IoT Platforms.

By bringing DMI and Telit’s technology together under one roof, engineers will see improvements to IoT functionality. Some of these improvements include:

  • Monitoring and controlling connected devices
  • Industrial automation
  • Asset tracking
  • Field service operations
  • Predictive maintenance

These improved functions will give enterprises better insight into their business decisions.

“As the Internet of Things continues its exponential growth around the world, enterprises are challenged to produce tangible business results through the connection of IT systems and M2M-enabled devices,” explained Sunny Bajaj, DMI founder and CEO. “This collaboration makes it easy for enterprises, large and small, to realize the benefits of the Internet of Things by reducing cost, time-to-market, complexity and risk, versus trying to engineer a fragmented, in-house solution.”

For instance, Telit reports that equipment cleaning company Tennant Company have used Telit’s IoT platform to improve customer experience. Tennant is able to track when and where facilities are cleaned, where equipment is located, when to perform preventative maintenance and when to order replacements for consumables for their entire fleet.

“We worked with Telit and DMI on an end-to-end IoT solution that is expanding Tennant’s value proposition, creating new opportunities and empowering customers with data to help manage their business,” said Paul Wellman, CIO of Tennant Company. “Together, Telit and DMI delivered an IOT platform and guided us through the entire business innovation process – from idea generation, through system architecture, proof of concept and full commercial deployment.”
