Vizible—VR Presentations Without Borders

Months after an exclusive release this past January, WorldViz is finally offering its new virtual reality software Vizible to all businesses. Through Vizible, users will have the ability to meet clients, collaborate with them, and demonstrate products for them through virtual presentations–an exciting prospect for those pitching and selling intricate and large-scale objects across the world.

Vizible opens up quite a range of presentation approaches for its users, capable of incorporating standard file types like JPEGs, PDFs, PowerPoint slides and video. Also, because Vizible supports most CAD applications, users can even manipulate and dissect standard polygonal 3D models of their products to visually and accurately explain their specifications.

Of course, this would require some hefty downloads on the client’s part in order to participate–about 400MB or so, along with however big and rendered the models are. On the positive side, it would be free for them to join the presentation, assuming they already own the necessary hardware.

Vizible is currently compatible with the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive through a PC. According to Andrew Beall, CEO and cofounder of WorldViz, the software will eventually support Windows Mixed Reality as well.

For a $250 monthly subscription, a customer would be able to use Vizible to create and host VR presentations. Even though it’s over 20x more than your Netflix subscription, it’s still worth considering if Vizible can potentially save your company on travel costs as well as the expense of shipping large products for demonstrations.

VizBox—Mobile VR Presentations

Riding that same wave of VR presentations, WorldViz also recently announced the VizBox, a complete and portable VR presentation kit for immersive presentations on the go. Let’s unpack the Box.

The VizBox enables users to bring their VR presentations to their clients, providing them with the full six degrees of freedom to explore and understand their products. (Image courtesy of WorldViz.)

The top layer of the kit contains a Lenovo gaming laptop complete with a NVIDIA graphics card. A foam tray cushions and protects the laptop in transit. The foam tray even features gaps for air flow as well as grooves for the cables to remain conveniently connected.

The layer underneath houses an Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) and a pair of Touch controllers. Even more stealthily hidden, WorldViz built the sensors right into the casing of the VizBox. Externally, a hardy Pelican case wraps up the entire package.

Setup only takes mere minutes—opening the VizBox, plugging in the laptop’s power adapter, and donning the VR hardware.

WorldViz looks to release the VizBox in May. Your business can invest in this for about $8,000. For businesses, the VizBox would be a suitable option to bring the VR presentation experience to clients wherever they may be.
