When will the buying stop? Apparently not anytime soon. (Queen’s song, Another one bites the dust, keeps ringing in my ears.) It looks like the 3D printing/additive manufacturing industry is going to be divided between two companies, 3D Systems Corp., and the new Stratasys Ltd.
3D Systems Corp. (NYSE: DDD) announced that it has acquired Paramount Industries, an experienced direct manufacturing and product development solutions provider for aerospace and medical device applications; offering services from complete design-to-manufacturing to the production of certified end-use parts and products.
3D Systems plans to integrate Paramount’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and advanced tooling and assembly operations with its growing on-demand direct manufacturing services. Paramount Industries maintains AS9100C and ISO 9001:2008 certifications along with an ITAR registration.
Paramount expanded its reach into the growing aerospace and medical device industries with 3D Systems’ SLS® production printers.
