3D Platform (3DP), a leading manufacturer of large format 3D printers, now offers the SurePrint Servo Motor Upgrade Package for the 3DP1000. This package is available as an option on new versions of the 3DP1000, and can be retrofitted onto existing models. The servo motor improves the print speed and accuracy of the printer.
SurePrint Servo motors generate 85% greater torque compared to the traditional stepper motors that initially were on the printer, allowing faster acceleration and deceleration during printing.
The closed loop servo includes a 20,000 count encoder for position feedback every 1.25 micron. Thus, the system can automatically adjust the accuracy to increase print quality for a smoother surface finish.
In addition, the use of servos can reduce power consumption of the overall system.
