3D Laser Scanning with Increased Memory, Speed

Surveyor 3D laser scanning systems now include 64-bit computers. The added processing capability provides faster scanning speeds, faster processing speeds, and more reliable service when working with extremely large files. With more than 4 gigabytes of RAM, the system lets users capture and work with significantly larger point clouds, and consequently perform tasks that would have been impossible before.

The larger RAM capacity combined with the SLP probes and the improved Surveyor Scan Control software reduces both time and effort in data capture and in creating a 3D point cloud. As the SLP laser probe projects a line of laser light onto a part, cameras continuously triangulate the changing distance and profile of the laser line as it sweeps along. The system measures fine details and captures complex free-form geometry so that the object can be exactly replicated and inspected.
