Do you want to run Apple OS, Windows and Linux on your own PC?

Then Quo Computer had you in mind when they designed and built their multi-platform motherboard called the “projectQ”.  The projectQ, or Z77MX-QUO-AOS for short, is a motherboard that lets you build a desktop computer that can run Apple, Windows or Linux natively.

The projectQ uses a microprocessor based on Intel® Z77 chipset for Ivy Bridge CPUs. It also supports Ethernet, Thunderbolt, Ivy Bridge, CPU and GPU.  The design of the motherboard includes an array of ports for added flexibility including FireWire 400 and 800, Thunderbolt, DVI, HDMI, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0.

Quo Computer previously developed a number of motherboard systems that are compatible with Apple OS. The company’s new goal with projectQ is to provide their customers more flexibility to work with any operating system they choose.

The company launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the projectQ.  You can pre-order one of these boards through the campaign for a pledge of $219.   The price doesn’t sound that bad if you are looking for building your inexpensive alternative to the Apple iMac.
