3 Great Infographics Celebrating Manufacturing Day 2016

An overview of manufacturing jobs, student perceptions and the fastest growing industries.

Happy Manufacturing Day!

Today, North American manufacturers are opening their doors to showcase the potential of modern manufacturing and foster interest in manufacturing careers. According to the Manufacturing Day website, there are more than 2,600 events taking place all across Canada, Mexico and the United States.

The aim of these events is to dispel the myths and misperceptions surrounding modern manufacturing, such as the notion that most manufacturing environments are dark, dangerous factories designed for low-skilled workers.

As part of this effort, numerous companies and organizations have created infographics to help spread the word about what modern manufacturing is really like. Here are three of our favorites.

1. What Manufacturing Really Looks Like

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) created this infographic to showcase the diversity of manufacturing as well as the wealth of job opportunities it offers.

2. Manufacturing Day at a Glance

Deloitte, in collaboration with the MFG Day organizers, created this infographic to illustrate the positive effects that Manufacturing Day has had on student perceptions of the industry.

3. Top 10 Fastest Growing Industries for Manufacturing Employment in the U.S.
