School Information:
The College of Engineering and Natural Sciences, founded in 1971, offers undergraduate degree programs and, beginning in Fall 1999, a Master of Engineering Program,and prides itself on its dedication to outstanding teaching. The University provides, as part of its mission, service to place-bound students throughout the state. The University, a Doctoral intensive institution, focuses on residential undergraduate education. The University is located on the boundaries of the Navajo and Hopi nations and, as a consequence, serves a large population of Native American students. Native Americans make up approximately 10% of the College's enrollment. NAMEPA reports NAU graduating the highest amount of Native American engineers in 1998-99. The College maintains a close working relationship with several community colleges and welcomes transfer students.
