Job Description:

Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), which provides installation/base management and facilities engineering worldwide. The primary capability areas of Planate are on Architectural Engineering Design & Planning, Program & Construction Management and Technical & Consulting Services.
 
The Project Engineer will be responsible for studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements and prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. This is to support the Construction Management Support Services (CMSS) for Department of State (DOS)/ Bureau of Overseas Building Operations (OBO)Special US Embassy Projects located in Arlington Virginia.
 
Key responsibilities:
 
• Planning OBO projects including the development of project requirements, project phasing plans, logistic plans, project management staffing and organization plans, detailed schedules and procurement strategies
• Assessing OBO's project planning, design, procurement, construction and building operating and maintenance strategies, procedures, and work products and identifying and implementing measures to improve their efficiency and effectiveness
• Collecting and analyzing information on the schedule and cost performance of OBO's new construction, renovation, and maintenance programs
• Assessing the success of OBO projects in meeting the requirements of the building occupants and users and recommending and implementing opportunities for improvements
• Evaluating the cost effectiveness of OBO's design and construction criteria and requirements and identifying alternative requirements
• Assessing the costs and benefits of OBO programs and value engineering programs, and recommending and implementing improvements
• Providing a variety of construction and program management support services 
• Reviewing OBO's present and future plans for the use of computer and related technologies and identifying opportunities to improve OBO's planning, design, construction, and operating and maintenance process through the more effective application of state of the art computer software, hardware, and related technologies
• Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
 
Qualifications to be successful in the role: 
 
• Must either be of the following: (1) Engineering/Construction Bachelor’s Degree; (2) Engineering/Construction Technical Associates Degree or (3) U.S. Military engineering vocation training 
• Shall have at least 5 years’ experience with U. S. Government for DOS/OBO construction contracts to include planning, developing construction contracts, design, construction, cost estimating and inspection of constructions and facilities support services 
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), Adobe PDF and AutoCAD
• Shall have experience with U. S. Commercial and local construction industry standards and practices
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Able to have a secret clearance.
