Our customer located in Plymouth, MI is seeking an experienced Vehicle Dynamics CAE Engineer for a direct hire position.
The salary range for this position is dependent upon level of experience.
  • Assemble, maintain, and document creation of multibody dynamic (MBD) models – using MSC-Adams/Chassis (preferred) OR MSC Adams/Car simulation software packages.
  • Refine MBD models to establish correlation with objective test data, perform simulations of vehicle dynamic physical tests, and publish analysis reports.
  • Participate in target-setting vehicle program attributes for ride, steering, handling, and braking.  Have familiarity using MBD model to cascade load data to support durability analysis.
  • Perform Design of Experiments (DoE), using MBD models in assessing vehicle attribute variations to operating environments / error-states.  Evaluate robustness of MBD model to variations in assembly and component tolerances.
  • Assist in establishing vehicle and chassis tuning component specifications to support vehicle development testing at proving grounds.
  • Display sound engineering principles with strong grasp of CAE tools used to develop optimal design as part of multi-disciplinary team of CAE engineers.  Document analysis with clear, concise reporting of fact-based results, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Aid in troubleshooting vehicle performance issues by simulation of possible error states.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited school.  Master’s Degree or higher preferred.
  • Must have AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY experience.  No other industries will be considered!
  • Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of vehicle dynamics CAE work experience, preferably with OEM in automotive chassis / vehicle dynamics activity.
  • In-depth understanding of vehicle dynamics theory and simulation methods used in CAE to characterize and report vehicle dynamic attributes.
  • Knowledge of MBD Software: MSC-Adams/Chassis OR MSC-Adams/Car.
  • Ability to build a multibody dynamic model, debug and validate to lab measurements.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – able to organize and present technical fact-based information clearly and effectively to inform and influence others.
  • High level of analytical problem-solving; enjoys challenge using skillset to work on difficult, complex problems.
  • Highly motivated individual who shows initiative in seeking solutions to complex problems; collaborates well with local and international colleagues – maintains good demeanor and positive outlook.
