The DNA and Proteins
The DNA molecule predetermines the structure, and therefore, the function of a protein.
Once the Nucleus receives the message that amino acids are needed, the DNA molecule goes through the processes of Replication, and Transcription, resulting in a single-stranded RNA molecule.
In the Cytoplasm, this RNA strand is translated into a sequence of amino acids by a Ribosome. The unique polypeptide chain will form the primary structure of a protein, determining its structure.
