In many important applications of calculus, one is concerned with the opposite of derivative: to find the original function when its derivative is given. When it is necessary to "undo" the differentiation, the process is called integration. The operation of integration is denoted by the symbol:

The integrals of some functions are difficult to compute directly from first principle. This table represents a partial list of such functions and their derivatives are often found directly from the tables. They are part of the many standard formulas in calculus.
