About POET
The largest ethanol producer in the world according to the Renewable Fuels Association, POET is an established leader in the biorefining industry through project development, design and construction, research and development, plant management, and marketing. The 20-year old company currently operates 24 production facilities in the United States with three more in construction or under development. The company produces and markets more than 1.4 billion gallons of ethanol annually.
POET is now hiring a Process Engineer for our Sioux Falls, SD office.
The Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing plant data, developing reports, and assisting with plant operations. The Process Engineer must able to effectively work in a team environment both on site with the operations group as well as with contacts at the managed plants.
1. Assist with operations oversight of POET Biorefining plants.
2. Write and implement procedures in a team environment.
3. Complete data analysis of process information.
4. Develop and utilize historical database reports.
5. Coordinate requests of information from plants.
6. Assist with plant start-ups, training and equipment check outs.
7. Travel to managed plants will be required for meetings, site visits/audits, and training
8. Develop and provide technical presentations to management and plant Team Member training.
9. Maintain a team environment with other plant departments.
10. Champion in the POET community.
11. Maintain a high level of customer service and friendly atmosphere.
12. Others duties as assigned.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position along with effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Up to five years experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
B.S. or B.A. or greater in Engineering or Science is a requirement.
Familiar or experience with Microsoft applications, DCS control and DCS historian systems is beneficial.
