About POET The largest ethanol producer in the world according to the Renewable Fuels Association, POET is an established leader in the biorefining industry through project development, design and construction, research and development, plant management, and marketing. The 20-year old company currently operates 24 production facilities in the United States with three more in construction or under development. The company produces and markets more than 1.4 billion gallons of ethanol annually.
POET is now hiring for a Technical Manager for our Macon, Missouri plant.
The Technical Manager reports to the plant General Manager and responsibilities include:
1. Accountable for all plant operations, production goals and laboratory operations. 2. Oversee accountabilities for all aspects of environmental, health and safety of all plant personnel, plant operations and the community in which we operate. 3. Insure that all city, county, state and federal regulations are being met at all times. 4. Ultimately responsible for performance management of all operations and lab employees. This may include: interviewing & hiring, performance reviews, goal-setting, production goals, disciplinary action, career development, succession planning. 5. Supervises maintenance, operations, and lab staff on a day-to-day basis, including determining workloads and schedules, implementing and interpreting policies and procedures, evaluating and training staff, approving and making hiring and termination recommendations. 6. Strive for maximum efficiency in plant operations, optimize plant up-time or runtime and minimize all plant downtime. 7. Ensure that all plant policies are implemented and followed. 8. Maintain and enforce all safety programs and procedures. 9. Facilitate communication between departments. 10. Responsible for budget preparation and cost control for the physical plant. 11. Present capital request justifications to the General Manager. 12. Communicate production performance numbers to the General Manager. REQUIREMENTS: Five (5) years experience in an operating processing plant environment such as grain processing or chemical processing. Minimum of 3 years supervisory/management experience. B.S. or greater in Engineering (Chemical Engineer preferred).
