This is senior or career level position that researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies systems and/or software applications in compliance with Company standards. Plans system development and deployment. Evaluates hardware/software interfaces, operating requirements, documents, tests, maintains and modifies systems as required. Prefer a BS with 5-8 or MS with 3-6 years of related experience.
The candidate must have a complete understanding and wide application of engineering principles, theories, and concepts in the field. They must have strong customer service and communication skills and be able to handle several tasks concurrently.
The Application Engineer will provide high level consultation to the engineering customer and management. Be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting a variety of CAD engineering tools. They will provide customer support in areas of best practice development, operations support, problem resolution, and coordinate training for the engineering community. It is desirable that the candidate have experience with ECAD/MCAD design processes with emphasis on Part Modeling, Large Assembly Management, Product Data management (PDM).
Prefer incumbents with a B.S. degree in Engineering, Aerospace or Mechanical. Five or more years of experience with all or a combination of listed CAD tools: CATIA V5, SmarTeam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Pro/ENGINEER, Intralink, PDMlink, Windchill is highly desirable.
Programming experience in MS Windows environment using VB, CAA, Fortran, C, C++ and shells scripts is a plus.
Incumbents apply complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, concepts and techniques with general understanding of other related disciplines.
Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems using imaginative and practical approaches consistent with organization objectives. Works under general direction, independently determines optimum solutions to achieve objectives.. |
