| Job Description: |
1. Production Group. The VPM shall be a full time member of the Production Group of the Company and shall be the Chairman of the Production Group. The VPM shall work with the Production Group to review, revise, develop, coordinate, and implement processes and procedures that will achieve the following goals:
a) Inputs: The VPM shall reduce direct manufacturing costs, including but not limited to direct and indirect labor, and product materials, by improving workflow, reducing waste, reducing "bottlenecks", improving material utilization, improving internal project due dates to assure the meeting of customer due dates, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the costs and results of production in the Engineering, Purchasing, Prefabrication, and Production Divisions of the Company.
b) Outputs: The VPM shall improve the Company’s customer due date results, reduce aggregate inventories (including inventories of materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods) by meeting or exceeding inventory turn day goals; reduce errors in part production, establish part uniformity; and improve the quality of finished goods. The primary goals shall be to reduce cycle times for inventories and still meet the customer due dates.
c) Training: The VPM shall coach and counsel the Directors of the Manufacturing Group, the Section Leaders, and the individual employees to focus efforts, to plan and clarify direction, and to meet or exceed specific target and stretch goals; shall establish specific target, stretch, or other performance indicators for such persons; and perform such other critical analysis as may be necessary to meet the Input and Output goals, above.
d) Production Schedule: The VPM shall set the daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for all product areas of the Company, which schedule shall be established through input from all Directors. The VPM shall work with all sectors of the Production Group to meet or beat the respective internal or external due dates. The VPM shall chair all daily Production Group meetings or shall assign a Director as chairperson, if the VPM is not available. The VPM shall set all agendas, priorities, specific and collective assignments and shall establish appropriate standards for accountability, and if necessary, take specific steps to enforce that accountability related to all employees under the VPM's direction and control.
e) Pricing: The VPM shall work with the Project Management Group, the Accounting Department, the Engineering Department, and the Company Cost Estimators to establish internal pricing for parts and external pricing for products recognizing the inputs costs of parts or products sold, including, but not limited to, material costs, machine or equipment lives, variable and fixed costs, indirect costs or other factors deemed pertinent to the analysis and shall have the duty and final authority to set those internal prices subject only to the review and concurrence of the President.
f) Production Goals: Without limiting the generality of the above, the VPM shall have the specific goals of meeting Company-wide aggregate, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual Production Goals as established annually by the Company as shown on the Production Goal Accountability Matrix established by the Company.
2. Budgeting. The VPM shall work with the President, Vice-President of Finance and the Accounting Department to develop, adjust, and administer monthly and annual budgets and financial projections for the Company, and shall work with the Directors of Purchasing, Production, Prefabrication, Engineering, and Customer Service to meet or beat the budget benchmarks.
3. Safety. The VPM shall be the duties as the Safety and Risk Manager of the Company and develop and implement safety plans to reduce the incidence of accidents or injury in the workplace environments of the Company and shall chair and work with the Safety Committee to achieve specific annual bench marks.
4. ISO 9000 Certification and Registration. The VPM shall cooperate with the Company to examine the costs of and to establish International Organization for Standardization certification and registration for the Company, including Quality Management Systems, written processes and procedures in manual form, and work with the Company Production Group to implement such processes and procedures and regularly review or audit such systems to maintain ISO 9000 Certification and Registration. The VPM shall work with the Production Group and the President of the Company to establish timelines for specific accomplishment of certification or registration with the overall goal of Company certification or registration with the ISO on or before December 31, 2011.
