Quality Assurance Engineer –

Overview:
This position is responsible for creating, maintaining and executing functional test automation scripts for all product lines using QTP and WinRunner

Responsibilities:
Develops functional automation scripts from test case requirements using QuickTest Pro and WinRunner
Maintains existing automated test suite
Maintains new and existing object reference file
Creates regression suites and executes full automated regression testing
Creates sanity test scripts for end-to-end testing and build acceptance
Using a modular approach, creates scripts based on function/logic and develops common library functions
Performs script maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementations
Assist in defining and establishing overall test strategy, scope, test readiness and risk analysis for assigned testing activities
Works with team to identify and remove performance bottlenecks in components and design architecture for the different application tiers
Work with software architect, DBA, and development leads to optimize and fine-tune applications to improve product performance and reliability
Reviews test cases and requirements for completeness and technical adequacy before script development
Mentors Team members on QuickTest Pro setup, usage and execution
Performs root cause analysis of test issues
Assist group in setting automation standards and guidelines for development
Ensures that automation milestones and deliverables are met
Creates defect tickets, status reports and tracks issues to resolution
Collects metrics and utilizes other effective approaches to measure quality whereby reducing waste, streamlining the QA processes and improving product quality
Monitors test progress throughout the release cycle, communicates test results, issues and risks to team members
Researches tools, methods, technology trends to support automation objectives
Works with QA Automation Supervisor to achieve organizational goals and objectives

Technical Requirements:
4+ years experience developing QuickTest Pro automation scripts
4+ years experience using TestDirector/QC (Test Plan, Test Lab)
6+ years QA experience testing web-based and/or client/server products in a Microsoft Windows environment
2+ years writing SQL queries with Oracle by using TOAD or Golden
1+ years experience with UNIX
Mercury Certified or equivalent certificate or training
In-depth knowledge of test automation tools, techniques, methods and procedures.
Proficient in writing automation test scripts using QTP and WinRunner
High proficiency in programming language, VB, VB Script, C, etc.
General understanding of object oriented concepts
Good understanding of descriptive programming
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; required.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills; required.
Excellent people skills; ability to mentor team members
Excellent test planning and organizational skills; required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with CRM application, Web Services and XML a plus

Position can be worked from Dallas or Atlanta

Must have: Testing Methodology 2 years SQL 1 year QTP/WR Development 2 years OR VBS/VB/.Net/Java/C#/C++ Experience
Overall automation Overview 2 years (this is important) QC 2 years UNIX 1 year
Backend Testing Automation Development an advantage
