Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has awarded WorleyParsons a 5 year $US 400m contract for the supply of Programme Management services. The contract serves to support KOC to achieve its objectives of reaching optimum capacity in its oilfields and enhancing its facilities by the most efficient and economical means available.
The contract aims to provide project management, co-ordination, planning, design, engineering, construction management, contracting, procurement, project controls and other services for construction of new oil field facilities, up-grading of existing facilities, and transfer of technology.
The new contract follows a previous 5 year contract which has grown the operation to over 300 people of some 20 nationalities. WP presently has a slate of 9 projects under management. Each project is in the mega-project category.

Discipline Head - Instrumentation
Position reports to: Engineering Manager
To ensure instrumentation design integrity whilst leading the instrumentation engineering group.
GÇó B.Sc.Eng. Degree.
GÇó At least of 15 years total post graduation experience
GÇó At least 10 years post graduation experience in oil & gas / refinery / petrochemical industry experience.
GÇó Minimum of 5 years as Lead Discipline Engineer.
GÇó Minimum 2 years experience with the Contractor in the similar position.
GÇó Ensure work is carried out competently and effectively within time and budget constraints and that project objectives are satisfied.
GÇó Subject matter specialist for the resolution of issues arising across all areas of instrumentation and control system design.
GÇó Overall supervision of instrumentation engineers, designers and technical personnel in the execution of all WPK / KOC PMC projects.
GÇó Mentoring of less experienced members of staff including GÇÿhands onGÇÖ approach to the formulation and delivery of training programmes for Kuwaiti personnel.
GÇó Ensure integrity of work scope and that all work is carried our in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
GÇó Manage discipline resource requirements including manpower planning, recruiting, identification of expertise gaps and filling such.
GÇó Completing annual competency and performance assessments of personnel.
GÇó Prepare instrumentation cost, time and resource requirement estimates on all WPK assigned projects.
Essential: GÇó Proven ability to organise and manage teams of discipline engineers across a diverse portfolio of projects.
GÇó Proven record in mentoring, training and technology transfer to location nationals.
GÇó Excellent skills with relevant software including MS Office suite.
GÇó Dispute resolution.
GÇó Ability to interact effectively with people and use clear, fluent and expressive verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
GÇó Broad based knowledge of the requirements for Instrument and control installations through all phases of project life cycle, from FEED through to Commissioning, within Oil & Gas or related industries.
Desirable: GÇó PMC experience required.
GÇó Experience with advanced engineering design tools and data systems.
