Calibration Engineer - Hybrid / Electric Vehicles-ENG0016699

We're seeking motivated candidates for calibration engineer positions in GM's Electrification group at the Milford Proving Ground. The selected candidate will work on GM's hybrid/EV programs and be responsible for developing and releasing control system calibrations within an electrification technology area.

The position involves significant on-vehicle and lab work, along with related analytical and data analysis activities. Calibration engineers engage in cross-functional teams, are expected to handle multiple projects/priorities, and frequently need to balance planned and unplanned work.

Role & Responsibilities:

- Develop and optimize controls calibrations to meet performance and timing targets
- Develop and provide functional calibration sub-sets for each hybrid/diagnostic subsystem utilizing Calibration Standard Work
- Support Lead Calibration Engineer/Diagnostic Strategist to assure algorithms meet VTS/SSTS (Vehicle Technical Specifications/Subsystem Technical Specifications) requirements
- Conduct calibration reviews to ensure high quality
- Organize, plan and coordinate calibration activities with Lead Calibrator and PDT (Product Development Team) to maximize resource efficiency
- Support identification of requirements for resources to develop calibrations
- Diagnose and correct vehicle, system, and controls deficiencies
- Support resolution of vehicle, plant, durability/dyno, or customer issues
- Utilize analytical tools to develop & verify calibrations
- Integrate use of modeling, simulation, combustion analysis, Super Cell, other in calibration development
- Develop, use, and update calibration procedures
- Support PDT activity with review of Service Documentation and procedures
- Update OBD (On-boarding Diagnostics) documents (Diagnostic Calibrators only)
- Participate in controls PDT
- Support development of Algorithms
- Participate in program calibration team meetings/activities
- Lead/Participate in development trips and related test activities
- Utilize Problem Resolution Tracking System (PRTS)
- Adhere to all Safety Precautions and Requirements, and treat safety as the top priority during all work activities

Required Qualifications:

- Engineering Degree (ME or EE preferred) or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience
- 3 years of calibration experience
- Independent worker requiring little direction, and work well in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5+ years of calibration experience
- Calibration experience in engine, transmission, or electrification (hybrid/EV) systems
- Experience with software processes / change control
