Purpose and Summary of Position:
We are currently seeking an Environmental Engineer who will be based in Edmonton CA.
This position will include:
ò Day to day monitoring of environmental tracking systems for site's air emissions, waste generation, and initatives to preserve the quality of soil and groundwater.
ò Prepare detailed reports for above activities for Federal, Provincial and Celanese requirements.
ò Environmental incident response and management including internal and regulatory reporting and follow-up actions to closure.
ò Coordinate stack monitoring program to support engineering air emission reduction projects and reporting requirements.
ò Drive the management of handling the siteÆs waste and storm waters to be in compliance with various Regulations. This involves identification of distinct projects.
ò Perform field observations and audits through interaction with employees who operate equipment and systems related to environmental protection.
ò Occasional sampling for air, water or soil quality as well as for wastes requiring categorization.
ò Assist with safety and emergency response planning and requirements.
ò Post secondary degree or diploma with an emphasis on environment, including engineering or sciences
ò Experience in monitoring/sampling and reporting for as soil, air and water
ò 2 û 5 years experience as an environmental professional in industry or consulting
ò Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
ò Proficient in the use of personal gas monitors and other field analyzers such as photoionization detectors and FTIR equipment for measurement of environmental parameters
