Job Description:
Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Supplier Quality Engineer opening to join our Engineering organization.

What you will do:
ò Work with Suppliers and other Whirlpool functions to enable the Supplier to create quality plans, implement corrective actions, generate quality metrics, and continually improve quality systems.
ò Work with manufacturing operations and suppliers on containment of non-conforming material and establishing corrective actions.
ò Supervise Engineer Technicians and give direction on corrective action, communications with suppliers and containment/rework implementation.
ò Support Whirlpool new products, quality and cost projects by attending regular reviews such as producibilty reviews and C2C reviews, conducting supplier audits, evaluating FPAÆs and working with other Whirlpool functions to ensure the supplier meets quality requirements prior to production.

What you need to succeed:
ò Bachelors or University degree in an engineering or technical field. Non-Engineering degrees will be consisted with demonstrated success in a related role.
ò Experience in mechanical and electrical applications preferred.
ò 5-10 years related (engineering) experience.
ò Experience with formal quality system assessments and part qualifications.
ò Statistical background required with hands on experience on QA/QC analysis methods.
ò First-hand knowledge of C2C/APQP, FPA/PPAP, FMEA, MSE/MSA, Process Control/SPC and Control Plans.
ò Understanding of quality systems- WQMS, ISO/TS16949 and ISO9100 experienced desired.
ò Understand of Six Sigma; Ideal candidate will be a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
ò Knowledge of TPS/Lean and the ability to lead improvement activities.
ò Knowledgeable in manufacturing process with the ability to support high speed assembly operations.
This position requires execution of Whirlpool's Non-Disclosure and Non-Competition Agreement.
