As a test engineer you will be responsible for implementing and supporting custom hardware and software test solutions for production and prototype development programs. You will be working closely with the test fixture development group to assure compatibility between the test solution and the fixture design. In addition you will collaborate with the hardware design group to identify needed test cases and debug any test related issues. Furthermore your responsibilities will include working with the product software team to identify any software related issues impacting factory/lab test.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
òWorking closely with baseband and RF engineers to determine test system requirements and to develop test solutions for factory test/lab testing.
òDesign, document, and version control of software for automation of test suites
òAbility to work on multiple issues simultaneously by prioritizing work
òTracking test performance over time (yields, reducing test time, increasing efficiency)
òPerform testing, debugging and optimization of factory test software by:
òRoot causing issues with test software and hardware used in factory
òWorking with design engineers to root cause issues that may be hardware, phone software, or test software related
òInterfacing with engineers in a production factory to improve yields & resolve issues
òCreating software in C# to control cellular test equipment
òWorking with perforce version control system to manage test software development process
òDeploy test systems and provide ongoing debug and maintenance support to the factory
òBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or similar technical degree
ò2 years or more of relevant experience
òProficiency in coding with; C++, C# or C for test automation
òNeeds to demonstrate understanding of project scheduling and program deliverables
òNeeds to have very strong, demonstrated debugging capabilities and sound root cause analysis methodology
òAdaptability to dynamic environment with varied challenges
òKnowledge of common electronics test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi-meters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, cellular-WiFi-Bluetooth-GPS test equipment
òKnowledge of safety issues, precautions and procedures of an Engineering lab
òBackground in CDMA, EVDO, GSM, EDGE, and UMTS and LTE test specifications is preferred
òStrong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
òStrong interpersonal and communication skills
òComfortable interfacing with varied groups across hardware, software, manufacturing
òKnowledge and experience in RF circuits, test methods and semi-automated test systems is preferred but not required
òExperience with automated test equipment for cellular phone testing is preferred but not required
