This position is with a vehicle/engine manufacturer and will be responsible for providing leadership to the manufacturing team in the development, maintenance, and improvement of all quality systems. Duties include: ò Participating in the development and implementation of quality specifications, testing procedures and standards for raw materials and finished products; ò Providing technical direction to engineers; ò Developing and recommending inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans, and process control procedures; ò Conducting research on product defects; ò Reviewing complaints or warranty claims to determine where quality control emphasis should be placed; ò Providing technical assistance to the purchasing department; ò Ensuring compliance with governmental regulations; ò Establishing and managing departmental budget and goals.
ò Engineering degree is required; ò 5+ years of manufacturing / quality control; ò An industry background in automotive (but not interiors), engine, powertrain, casting, power tools, etc.; ò 5+ years of supervisory experience; ò Advanced knowledge of quality policies and procedures; ò Advanced knowledge of quality related tools, SPC, GD&T, DFMEA, DOE, Quality Systems, measurement tools; ò Strong leadership and problem solving skills; ò Excellent interpersonal, communication and technical coaching skills.
