Tate & LyleÆs Innovation & Commercial Development Process Technology group has a permanent Pilot Plant management position available for immediate placement. The successful candidate will possess (1) a minimum BS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related engineering field, (2) Previous experience in Pilot Plant Operations, Plant Operations, and/or Operations Maintenance Management with a preference for those in corn processing or related fields. Candidate must be self-motivated, a team player, skilled in verbal and written communication, and able to demonstrate strong competence in fundamental engineering principals and concepts. Leadership potential is highly desirable and will be fostered. Essential Responsibilities:
The Pilot Plant Services ManagerÆs roles and responsibilities include:

Maintenance Responsibilities:
ò Maintain and improve Pilot Plant infrastructure and processes.
ò Manage Pilot Plant infrastructure capital projects.
ò Manage contract maintenance personnel and the work order system.
ò Coordinate resolution of breakdowns on process equipment and utilities.
ò Maintain Pilot Plant utility systems.
ò Pilot Plant interface with environmental group for emissions.
ò Maintain equipment explosion suppression systems.
ò Coordinate annual review of Confined Space Entry SOPs.
ò Manage the spare parts inventory.
ò Issue safety permits.

Production Responsibilities:
ò Coordinate the production of recently launched products in the Pilot Plant.
ò Manage raw material and finished product inventory, and sanitation plans.
ò Manage contract process support personnel and Production Technician.
ò Coordinate the GMP and Food Safety programs for the Pilot Plant.

New Product Development Support Responsibilities:
ò Coordinate with Pilot Plant Engineering Manager to support New Product Development projects running in the Pilot Plant.
ò Equipment set-up or installation of new processes.
ò Assist in evaluation of potential Toll Processors.
ò Assisting in plant trials and plant start-ups.

Success Criteria:
Your success will be measured based on:
ò Ability to maintain pilot plant infrastructure, processes, equipment, and safety.
ò Ability to coordinate production of recently launched products.
ò Ability to provide new product launch support.
ò Ability to successfully lead contract personnel and select Toll Processors

Basic Qualifications:
ò Bachelors Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
ò Experience in Pilot Plant Operations, Plant Operations, and/or Operations Maintenance Management.
ò Strong mechanical and process troubleshooting skills.
ò Strong planning and project management skills.
ò Safety first philosophy with experience in both food and technical safety.

Desired Experience and Traits:
ò Previous management experience of maintenance and process contract personnel.
ò Working knowledge of SAP.
ò Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.
ò Experience with corn processing or related field preferred.
