Design Group Staffing Inc. is presently recruiting for a Research Engineer with a keen interest in R&D in the area of High Pressure Tubular and Gas Phase ethylene polymerization for our respected client, a progressive Alberta based Petrochemical Corporation.
M.SC. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering
1 to 3 yearsâ€™ experience with a strong background in Polyethylene chemical engineering
R&D experience in the field of Gas Phase and High Pressure Tubular Polyethylene process would be an asset.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong knowledge of numerical and simulation methods, programming and commercial process simulation codes.
Have experience in the implementation of technical developments.
Possess research strength in process modeling and the capability to undertake experiments on a lab or commercial scale.
Demonstrated ability to develop practical solutions to technical problems with the use of modeling, simulation and experimentation.
Results oriented and ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
Work with manufacturing sites and product and catalyst R&D personnel in a dynamic team environment.
Identify opportunities for the development and implementation of process improvements.
Working effectively in a multi-functional environment inclusive of various groups within R&D, Manufacturing, Technical Services and Management.
Develop portfolio of projects including both long term and short term.
Execute experimental trials on Bench Scale Reactors, Technical Scale Reactors, Pilot Plants and Commercial Plants.
Develop and validate simulation models for gas phase and high pressure tubular polyethylene process.
Translate computer simulation concepts and results to practical implementation at manufacturing facilities.
Act as a technical expert resource to members of the R&D and manufacturing groups.
Communicate results and make recommendations to peers and leadership.
