This position is responsible for managing the company’s welding/fabrication programs – both manual and robotic. Duties include: • Providing welding processes to improve safety, efficiency, productivity, and quality; • Developing new, efficient welding procedures, standards, sequences, and methods; • Ensuring weld processes and equipment are in compliance with IOSHA, the company’s safety requirements, and ergonomic standards; • Developing and recommending the most efficient weld sequences and processes; • Troubleshooting manufacturing problems and leading the development and implementation of more efficient job processes; • Ongoing inspections of weld processes and procedures and coordinating resolutions; • Developing weld test procedures; • Analyzing and planning space requirements, workflow and layout of equipment for maximum efficiency; • Developing cost justifications; • Evaluating new developments concerning welding/fabrication matters. • 2+ years of Welding experience; • MIG, FCAW, SAW, GTAW, SMAW weld process applications and weld joint design; • Knowledge or background in mechanized and robotic welding; • Knowledge or background in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing concepts, Kaizen, 5S methodologies.
