Position Summary
The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the activities and operations of the Technology Operations department in support of Document TechnologyÆs corporate objectives. This includes responsibility for the design, implementation, and operation of a technically complex set of systems and services needed to provide data processing and data storage functionality for customers, as well as responsibility for the design, implementation, and operation of the CompanyÆs internal information technology infrastructure.

Provide leadership, guidance and the overall strategic planning for the internal infrastructure and the IT team. Provide a high level of availability, efficiency, and security for central infrastructure supporting the production and corporate needs in all locations.
Provides organizational and technical leadership in pursuit of the CompanyÆs IT initiatives.
Directs the planning, budgeting, design, implementation, and validation of IT systems and services needed to support external and internal customers.
Directs the operation of information systems and related equipment, including telecommunications and data networks.
Works closely with team members across the organization in order to coordinate planning, implementation, and operational efforts.
Develops transitional plans for acquisition and installation of equipment.
Manages activities of systems administrators and IT Help Desk.
Evaluates progress and results regarding IT activities and goal attainment.
Keeps informed of new developments and trends; makes recommendations and provides guidance to executive management on desirable additions or replacements.
Owns and drives relationships with vendors; investigates sources of equipment and services, works with corporate attorneys and purchasing to create and manage vendor contracts.
Authors and maintains corporate technology policies, procedures and records.
Maintains and owns the corporate security program.

10+ years of information systems experience with at least 5 years of leadership responsibility required.
Server systems, storage systems, workstations, networking, web hosting, and various system monitoring software applications.
Enterprise Security, policy and procedure management.
Enterprise Virtualization, Networking and Storage installing, configuration and management experience required.
Sophisticated Excel skills required (i.e. charting, forecast spreadsheets, etc.).
Experience with MS Project and Visio optimal.
Experience working within early-stage, high-tech organizations a plus. A hands-on leader able to simultaneously work as a strategist, an architect, a project and department manager, and a individual contributor.
Proven ability to generate novel and innovative solutions to challenging design problems.
Exceptional relationship builder who engenders trust with other members of the team.
Possesses solid business acumen and the analytical ability to quickly assess the needs of an organization across departmental and functional lines.
Proven track record of motivating and mentoring key technical personnel. Leads by example, embodying Company Values.
Excellent communication skills (both technical and non-technical) in written, verbal and presentation format. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to executive team.

Travel to collocation center and extended periods working in data center server room environment may be required at times.
Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day.
Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
Candidate must be able to rack and cable servers (~40 pounds) unassisted in a data center environment.
