PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Product Development EngineerÆs work involves research into product transformations through design, development, evaluation and improvement of processes, equipment, methods. The work may involve changes in the chemical composition or physical state of materials and requires primarily application of knowledge of the principles and practices of chemical engineering, chemistry and other scientific and engineering disciplines to enhance differentiation of our product lines.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

òAbility to propose, develop and execute strategies directed at helping create innovative new products, enhance current technologies, and support various R & D initiatives.
òThe work involves considerable experimentation based on engineering and materials behavior principles.
òLead applied research projects involved in process and product optimization activities.
òIdentifies and manages external collaborations as well as effective collaboration within our organization on testing and test development to help ensure best practices are evaluated.
òExpected to be hands on person that requires advanced problem solving ability and analytical thinking willing to run tests, collect data and communicate results to team members.
òUse engineering principles, data analysis and problem solving tools to solve problems.
òCommunicate and document project progress and status.
òEvaluates products and manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors.
òDevelops product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
òPrepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. .
òWe look for an individual that can identify and solve technical issues, has a strong engineering skills in research, testing, project tracking.
òOften the work will be conducted in teams from the Product Development, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing departments that support identified research initiatives.


òMust have a minimum BS degree in a Science or engineering discipline.
òMust have some experience in product research, managing projects and developing test methods and statistical analysis of data.
òGood understanding of manufacturing processes
òGood at multitasking and working in a team environment
òKnowledge and experience working with polymers is a plus.
òYou must be an individual who is intrinsically motivated and have good organizational skills with a strong work ethic.
òKnowledge of polymer forming processes, mechanical data, characterization and physical testing techniques on polymers pertaining to surface is advantageous.
òSelf-motivated problem solvers who identify innovative solutions to real world problems and are able to work independently as well as in groups.
òDemonstrated skills showing initiative, planning, and ability to deliver results.
òAbility to create new thoughts as an idea person, who likes a challenge and regularly thinks outside the box to solve difficult problems.
òExperience and participation in bowling is preferable.
