The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for leading the design and development of new consumer products. Duties include: ò Responsibility over the design, quality, investment, and cost of the new product; ò Designing components and assemblies to include concept development, design validation, print release, tooling review, manufacturing evaluation and product launch; ò Specifying materials for design optimization; ò Leading root cause analysis and resolution to design and process related issues; ò Effective communication and multi-tasking management with proper follow-up during resource imbalances.
ò 3+ years of related engineering and project management experience; ò Knowledge and experience with mechanical structure design, manufacturing processes and quality system tools; ò Proficient with new product development tools: design concept generation, design reviews, prototype building and evaluation, DFMEA, DOE, tolerance analysis, process capability, design verification, milestone schedule management, line trial activities; ò Applied knowledge of DFMA principals; ò Highly motivated, innovative and resourceful problem solver; ò Computer literate in MS Office applications, Lotus Notes, CATIA v5 preferred; ò Experience with polyurethane foam assemblies, design ofr Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH), and large scale plastic injection and thermoform molding highly desired; ò Ability to travel 15% to 25% annually.
