This position is with a state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility and will be responsible for managing and directing the activities of the industrial engineering group. Duties include: ò Managing a mixture of large and small projects to improve utilization, efficiency, and yield in food processing operations; ò Managing larger cross functional projects from design to implementation; ò Developing new initiatives in manufacturing methods and labor utilization standards; ò Conducting equipment utilization and capacity studies and providing recommendations to cost justify; ò Providing leadership in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement techniques; ò Leading efforts to attain maximum efficiency, reduce equipment setup/changeover time and increase productivity; ò Hiring and training additional IEÆs as positions are justified and approved; ò Travel could be up to 50%. ò 1+ years of hands-on IE leadership experience in a food processing environment, has the ability to manage other engineers; ò Proven ability to use Operations Research tools such as Simulation and Optimizations, Knowledge of Arena and Excel Solver are desired; ò Working knowledge of cost accounting, gathering production information, production scheduling and inventory management; ò Strong Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies; ò Able and willing to travel up to 50%; ò Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Access, MS Project, and SAP; ò Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
