Scope of Position:
ò Assist Intellectual Asset Manager with targeted projects
ò Will learn how to use Thomson Innovation patent search tools.
ò May be assigned targeted support projects, including technology landscaping, and commercial research
ò Will interact with Inventors, may assist inventors in writing/creating appropriately complete and accurate IDs (specific and detailed) so that the Patent Committees can make the best business decision quickly
ò Supports competitive intelligence monitoring and analysis consistent with the IP Strategy Plan of the business and applicable policies and procedures.
ò The IPA will assist in implementing the IP strategy.
ò The IPA will participate on the IP team, resolving issues and action items
ò The IPA will coordinate project IP reviews, including coordination of technical and legal project responsibilities.
ò The IPA will interact heavily with the Patent Department attorneys for project reviews, IP landscaping, etc.
ò Plan and Execute Trade Secret visit to a plant
ò 3rd or 4th year student working towards Bachelors Degree in physics, optics, chemistry or material science , and interest to learn more about intellectual property
ò Desired: 1st or 2nd year law school student with technical degree and interest in Intellectual Property
ò Required Years and Area of Experience:
ò Prior internship or relevant work in the technology/engineering environment a significant plus
ò Demonstrated technical skills, including ability to understand new technology quickly
ò Project Management Skills
ò Ability to facilitate meetings with cross-functional teams
