IT&E International has a contract opportunity for a Senior Equipment Engineer for a major pharmaceutical client in Redwood City, CA. This is a very fast paced environment, and if someone has not had experience working in a fast paced regulated manufacturing environment, they might not be successful at this site. The candidate should have a bachelor's degree. The primary role of this position will be to develop, design, document, and support validation of the mechanical and electromechanical equipment fixtures associated with our semi-automated production lines for our medical devices. In particular, it is expected that the candidate will be responsible for the design, reliability, compatibility with existing manufacturing processes, and release of equipment for production use. Candidate will be responsible for CAD design, analysis of strength and tolerances, material selection and producing drawings and specifications, design verification, and support equipment qualification activities. Special Skills Needed: Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD, specifically SolidWorks. Experience integrating electronic subsystems into fixtures (PLCÆs, I/O boards, drive modules, LCD/HMI Displays, power supplies). Strong mechanical design background geared towards automated equipment used in a medium-volume production environment (2500 units/day). Three years of direct experience with performing equipment development activities in Medical Device or comparable industry required.
