That's right, the already easy-to-use and amazingly powerful Keyshot got an upgrade by Luxion to Keyshot 5.
Keyshot 5 focuses on streamlining the user experience by revamping the user interface and enhancing tools to speed up rendering and animation workflows. Completely new to this release is the Keyshot Cloud, where users can store and share their best resources.
Key improvements include:
Share and download your most loved KeyShot resources and assets: materials, environments, and textures. The KeyShot Cloud is the online library enabling easy drag-and-drop usability to find the perfect resources for your scene.
Create duplicate parts in KeyShot without increasing file size, similar to patterning in CAD.
The new Fade animation allows users to quickly apply an animation that fades parts from one opacity level to another. It's better than PowerPoint slide transitions.
NURBS Ray-tracing (Pro version)
NURBS data import from your favorite modeling system delivers accurate geometry with smoother edges. NURBS ray-tracing allows the rendering of imported NURBS data within KeyShot. NURBS import is currently available for Creo, CATIA, Inventor, SolidWorks, NX, STEP, IGES, Parasolid, and ALIAS.
Sun & Sky System (Pro version)
A new Sun & Sky system for automatic creation of physically accurate geographic lighting. Just pick a date, time, location, and turbidity (cloudiness or fog) and you can create of unlimit daylight scenarios.
KeyShot 5 is available immediately. Pricing starts at $995. As with previous versions, animation capabilities can be added to KeyShot for $500 and interactive KeyShotVR capabilities can be added for $1000.
All customers who bought KeyShot on or after February 14th, 2014, as well as all customers who purchased KeyShot for Education will receive the upgrade to KeyShot 5 free of charge.
