The problem is most likely due to your Ethernet network interface card. The following steps are used to force the I4DRIVER Registry entry to point to the Wireless network interface card:

1. Enable the wireless network interface card
2. Clear the I4DRIVER registry entry
3. Run i4target -d {17EC0C5C-CA90-4E24-ADA0-F511CF2EAE72}
4. Run i4target -Ol to verify a good targetid.

CATIA Nodelock Key Management now showed a non-zero targetid that persisted across laptop reboots.

License Extraction works successfully, using the non-zero targetid associated with the Wireless network interface card, but using the Ethernet network interface card to connect to the License Server to obtain the extracted license.

Use of a Network Interface Card (NIC) as a source for the targetid is different from its use for client-server communications. The Windows Registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\License Use Runtime\I4DRIVER determines which NIC's MAC address will be read for calculating the LUM targetid. I4DRIVER has no effect on the choice of the NIC that actually supports a given communication over the network. Even a disabled NIC can be used for I4DRIVER (provided it is powered on and not broken).
