Does it matter if it is pollution of our water resources or that of our atmosphere?  If you live naturally in either one you might have a problem to deal with.  Coral reefs are dying from known pollution levels o human waste in some places and the bottom basic food groups of plankton and other microbes are disappearing along with the brine and other higher level creatures.  This of course interferes or breaks the food chain for even higher level creatures and in so doing, helps to kill off those sea inhabitants that get nourished from these more basic food chain elements.  Does anyone out there like to eat fish, or shell fish, or dive into the ocean for fun and adventure.  In the future at some point this could prove to be hazardous to your health and leave that lobster alone down there because it could make you sick.

Well it is very easy to depict various scenarios for you to contemplate upon but that is the easy part to play.  It is all of you out there that I am trying to motivate to give some thought to what we have done to Mother Earth and how we can make her feel better.  After all the brains are out there not in this article or the writer of it.  Your education and talents are what we need to slow down and even reverse the misuse of fossil fuels and the destruction of many others like our forests without planting anything to take its place.  We have to all become part of the solution or we will just become part of the problem.  That is not rocket science as we all know.  The facts and figures are in and available to all who might want to read more on this subject.  Today I would like to give you some ideas or thoughts by others that have come up with something that might be able to be done that could make a difference.  Try these web sites out

http://www.physorg.com/news145561984.html   and

http://news.thomasnet.com/IMT/archives/2008/11/reduce-raw-material-waste-inventory-reuse-reprocess-product-design.html?WT.mc_t=nlimt&WT.mc_n=93&channel=email#comments

You might have to cut and paste them into your browser but it shows promise at both sites in ways that can be implemented that might make that difference and added to many others perhaps we can change things around for the better.  We can all talk about how things were when we were kids and how much difference it was way back then.  (the older you are the more easily you can say this) while even today we have a livable earth.  What will kids as adults in the future be able to say like we can now?  My friends the problem is real and indeed measurable whether we are willing to admit it or not.  A time to start planning to get involved and to do something about it is already past the starting point.  Let us all collectively get on board the solution train.  Clean energy without destroying the earth in the meantime can be done.  What wonders I have seen in my lifetime.  I was born before TV, plastics and the Atomic bomb.  I even had a wooden pacifier would you believe.  (I have a heck of a bite still) Yes, I am ancient, prehistoric, archaic, over the hill, but I have had one thing that many humans in the future might not have.  I had a past to remember as I am in my future today.  Will they have that?  Sincerely,

Re: Mother Earth Sobbing

A much debated topic. Obama has promised to do something for this climatic change when he comes to power. All the developed and developing countries must agree upon a protocol. And above all the children must be educated and proper awareness must be created among them. The ill effects must be taught to them. Lets stop using the chemicals to the most. Use the natural products. Our older generation was using it. They had no problem. So lets switch over to such products again.

Hi Descorpio,

Yes sir, you stated the problem very well and I agree with you very soundly. The USA uses the most fossil fuels of all nations and we produce 30% of the worlds pollution. So we can do a lot of trimming ourselves. Education is a very big part of the solution here and even today when I went to one of our schools here in Las Vegas, I talked about that to the young inheritors of this world. Let us hope that this next President does indeed do what is needed to be done to reverse years of turning the governemental heads away from the problem. I don't believe we need more laws but perhaps an enforcement of what we already do have. Maybe newer laws will be needed, I don't know. But I will throw my support to any President, world leader or advocate that is trying to make things better. I'm an old guy but I sincerely care about the young people today. Too bad my generation could not have passed the torch to the younger generation with solutions that would have taken care of this mess my generation allowed to happen. We should have been better keepers of the world and maybe not so arrogant. Thank you so much for your comments. Have a great week. Bye.

Re: Mother Earth Sobbing

You are right Mr.Richard. The title itself says it all. I am from India and here, the pollution levels are very high here and many people die everyday because of pollution. Another important factor is the greenhouse effect that has raised a lot of alarm from the past few years. I really pray that people are educated about the green house effect as well as the pollution hazards so that they can be overcome and we can have a cleaner and greener tomorrow.

Re: Mother Earth Sobbing

Hello Mr. Baskin On,
Yes sir, you are correct about what is happening in many parts of the world with a large industrialization developing countries. It is not only those other countries but here in the USA as well. I'm helping to take up this banner to get people everywhere to take notice of what is happening to the world. We still have people that either do not care or understand what it is that we are doing to kill ourselves. The problem is huge and needs an effort larger than the problem to turn it around. We can do it if we all put our hearts and minds into solving the problems we created. It means cooperation and collaboration on a scale not seen before in the world. I'm afraid that by the time even those most skeptical of people admit that we do indeed have a problem, it might just be too late to do anything about it. So far we have not positively identified any better planets to live on so we have to make do with what we have here. It is the only one we have and I for one like it. I'm not as smart as all of you engineers and scientists out there but I also can be someone that can help with ideas. Leadership with this effort has to begine in earnest with our governments. We need to be forced into changes in the way we do things and our living styles. Some out there will never do anything until they are forced to change. I always ask students that I give talks to in their schools, "how long can you hold your breath." I get some really good answers. Others don't know. Some won't even care to try. The answer to seeing how long you can hold your breath is typical of the people who ponder the question of pollution in the world. Some don't care at all, others aren't sure and lastly there are those that believe the best minds in the world that say we are approaching a time when there will be no returning from devastation. I care about the younger generation and yet I am old. It can be fixed, we still have some time but not much. Thank you my friend for your comments. Have a really great day. Bye.
