    Hi,
I could really use some help in choosing a field of engineering to study. I was wondering what would be the best field of engineering to study if you when you graduate you will be 35 yrs old. I am getting started rather late in life and would to choose a field where that won't hamper me very much. Please keep in mind that I am single and will be so for quite a while (although I am not sure if that matters or not). I was originally thinking of chemical or electrical engineering but any advice would be helpful.

I don't think the choice of field matters much as regards mature entry. Both those majors are good solid ones, choose the one with the best job prospects where you want to live and/or the one you enjoy most.

Your choice needs to be something that 15 years from now will still get you out of bed in the morning to go do. That's more important factor than others. Doing something that you hate simply because it's easy to enter will eventually wear on you, make you grumpy and cantankerous, and add unnecessary stress into your life, so we wouldn't want that, would we?
