There are a number of very good software packages for designing PCB. Asking which is the best really needs to be clarified.

    1. How much are you ready to spend?
    2. How familiar are you with designing PCB's?
    3. How complicated will your PCB's be?
    4. Is circuit simulation an important part of your work?

I you are just starting to learn to use E-CAD software then you may not want to get the most capable package. You may want to consider getting a more basic package and then develop your skills.

    Gunjan:

E-CAD is not a specific software package. I was using it as a a general term for PCB Design Packages.

There are a number of freeware packages on the web. Eagle CAD has one. Also several of the companies who provide PCB fabrication services have online programs which you can use in exchange for selecting their service to fabricate your PCB boards.

I am a Mechanical Engineer so can not specifically recommend one.

although there are several PCB softwares which are easily available in market. the mmore user-friendly softwares are expressPCB,ZenitPCB,freePCB,TinyCAD,OsmondPCB,Kicad and so many.

freePCBb is an open source software and is used very commonly.

Lots of PCB design software available but depends on the budget. Personally i use CADSTAR but a list of available software can be found here:-
