I want to find the deflection of Wire Harness(Between the two clips) used in car?

also if i want to find deflection of single wire is it possible if i use Beam formula, If beam formula then which formula to be used and how?

eg: electrical wire consists of PVC outer side and copper inside
Then how to find the I-moment of inertia and E- youngs modulus

    Balu:

Question for you. Is the deflection of the wire governed by an external force on the wire or is it governed by the weight of the wire?

Roark's Formula's for Stress and Strain might be a good starting point.

The PVC shell and the wire core will have different properties. You can and them to determine the Moment of Inertial and Stifness Modulus.

    Hope this help you.
