Planning a water storage system and it will have to be vented to allow air to escape when water flows in. I dont want the air pressure to significantly impact the incoming water. Incoming line can be either 3 or 4 inch PVC and will be gravity feed. Vent line can be PVC 1 or 0.5 inch PVC. I'm not sure how to determine how large the vent pipe needs to be for the 3 or 4 inch pvc incoming water line.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

You need to know your flow rate and determine (using the dimensions of the tank) your rate of change of water volume, this is the rate at which air is displaced.
Personally I don't think it is an issue that needs complicated calculations. Air is compressible, and water is heavy. It would take a large pressure of air to impact the water flow. Your 0.5 inch PVC vent line will be adequate, I'm certain.
