In an isolated PN junction diode, after tHe formation of the depletion zone at the junction, Positive ions are formed at the Ntype region near the junction whereas there are negative ions formed at the Ptype region near the junction.

the electrons in the Ntype region might get repelled by the negative ions near the junction at the Ptype region but the attraction between the positive ions at the Ntype near the junction and the electrons at the Ntype is more strong which may lead to recombination. why is that not happening?
The majority charge carriers might neutralize the ions formed in their respective regions, why doesn't that happen?
