I do not think you will get anybody to offer a letter of dispensation for this job. The cable should be in a conduit. The conduit will protect the cable from chemical attack (which is why simply plastering over an unprotected cable is frowned upon). The conduit will also keep the mud, or whatever compound you use, from encasing the cable and acting as a blanket. The cable must be able to lose heat that is generated when it carries current. Your mud idea will not allow the cable to lose heat. |
