    Hi there, im in my final year of mechanical engineering and have been given a lab report which involves finding an equation which seems to be non existant.Hopefully a clever forum member can answer my question.

    According to my lecturer there is a formula/equation which will calculate deflection of a strut for any given load, as we know a strut deforms with less than the calculated buckling load.

    The strut is pin ended on both ends.
    L=458
    load = 10:90 in increments of 10.
    I=45mm^4
    A=60mm^2
    b=30mm
    d=3mm

    any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Tom
