    Hi people,

    I have a college question that requires me to tolerance several parts to BS and ISO standards. I have found how to tolerance holes and the shaft diameter but cannot find how to tolerance the length of the shaft.

    Can anyone help?

    Pete:

    BS = British Standards
    ISO= International Standards Organization

    Both are systems of standards which are very similar to the GDT standard per ME / ANSI.

    You should be able to show the length of the shaft by a side view of the part (depending on how it is drawn)

    You are mistaking that you need a , but this symbol is only necessary when drawing hole specifications. This symbol is used for depth if it is not a through hole.

    Maybe you´re looking for ISO 286 and ISO 2768 standards.
