Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD)

COD is a way to determine indirect measurements of organic compounds in water. (Check wikipedia)

BOD is a measurement of how fast microorganisms use up oxygen in water. Typically this is measured over a five day period.

Also, MSDS stands for material safety data sheet. Basically, they are a quick reference assigned to an industrial chemical that tells you the hazards of the specific chemical.
