As far as my knowledge is concerned, you need the sensor. The signal cant be recieved without it.

Can I use an accelerometer? Would a three axis accelerometer work for this? They make very small ones so I could find one the size I need, but I don't know if it would work. I would want to use the accelerometer as a mouse. Thats why I wanted the pointer, but if I can't find anything similar to that then I want to see if there is anything I can use instead. Thnxs for all the help.
